Leap Day!

I heard back from STARbooks today, and they confirmed that (for their historical submission call) they want single author anthology queries only and not an antho with a collection of stories from different authors -  which is a shame because I had a cracking idea (oh so modest, erastes!) about a gay archaeologist but perhaps I might still do that and try and sell it somewhere else. T’is a shame because it was the first ever gay historical call i’d ever seen. Still, it’s progress.

I’ve missed several anthologies lately, the Cowboy one and various others and I feel crappy about that, but I haven’t been in a short story place while I struggle with the last chapter of Junction X. It’s not the final chapter sequentially as I always write the ending of my books pretty early on, but it’s the bit just before it.  Nearly there. It’s been a long haul, about 2 years or a bit more, really, and I find it almost inconceivable that it’s nearly over. 2 years is a long time to be in someone’s head, I know there’s a few people on my friends list on Livejournal who won’t–as a habit–even consider reading first person fiction and I don’t understand why that is. Look at what they miss!

However, I won’t be doing another first person one for a while, it’s been far too intense. A few more thousand words and then WHEE! It’s fun with Fleury-time!  I really don’t think I get away with calling it “Fun with Fleury” can I?
