London Literary Festival
I’ve been invited by the nice Mr James Lear (author of the brilliantly funny The Back Passage) to attend one of the events of the 2008 London Literary Festival. It’s an event called “Dirty Books” for dirty writers like me, and I would imagine that there may be a fair amount of questioning as to why women write gay fiction. I’ve already answered that (in as much as why I do it) so I’m not going into that here!)
It’s the first time I’ve been invited anywhere on the strength of my writing, so it’s very flattering. It’s in late June/Early July I believe.
Frost Fair is moving along, just hit 4000 words on it, but there’s not much sex, or indeed even any shipping. There’s child labour and pollution on the frozen Thames, that’s what there is. I hope it doesn’t want to be a novel, because if so it’s going to be very disappointed.
